The classical model taught at The Covenant School emphasizes the arts and theatre is an important component of our education. The Logic School has an annual Shakespeare Festival in the spring for all students (including a Shakespeare play put on by the Logic School students) and Theatre Arts 1 and 2 are offered to 7th and 8th graders. Every year the Rhetoric School puts on a fall musical, a spring play and a one-act play at the fall Fine Arts night.

The Covenant One Act team brought home 1st place from TAPPS State Competition in Kerrville, TX with And a Child Shall Lead. Senior Sammy Newcomer was awarded Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. Senior Claire Booker and Junior Alex Ramsland were awarded All-Star Cast medals and Freshman Sully Hickman won All-Star crew. It was an especially meaningful win as the students knew they were representing real children and desired that their voices be heard.
"It has been an honor to portray these children over the past month. I will hold their story close to my heart always. This show is yet another reminder that often it is the children of this world who lead in faith and that we must follow their example. " said Senior Jackson Murray.

The accommodations were an added blessing.  A large house outside of Kerrville was perfect for the team of twenty-five. Not only did it provide plenty of room, but it allowed for much-needed rest for the students, as well as a refreshing time of fellowship.

Freshman Sarah Switzer reflected, "It is so incredible how a group of kids who hardly knew each other before can come together and bond over a beautiful story and quickly become a family who loves each other so immensely!!"

Thanks be to God for His faithfulness!
